Our Journey

Grow Through It, Powertalk.

PowerTalk is a movement and annual event that creates brave spaces for conversations we rarely have out loud. From trauma and taboo to triumph and transformation, PowerTalk brings together powerful voices to tackle social issues through real, healing dialogue.
Founded by Naomi Glay in 2018, PowerTalk began as a response to silence. Naomi, a former Miss Liberia USA and sexual abuse survivor, turned her pain into purpose by building a platform where people could talk about the things they were once told to keep hidden. Since then, PowerTalk has sparked hundreds of life-changing conversations on:
Sexual Abuse Awareness
Financial Literacy & Entrepreneurship
Creative Expression through Fashion
Gender Roles & Cultural Identity
Grief, Loss & Mental Wellness

Now in its 6th year, PowerTalk continues to grow as a cultural movement focused on healing, growth, and truth-telling.

Today, Naomi leads PowerTalk with a vision to amplify healing, one brave conversation at a time.

“I want people to see that their voice has power, even the parts they once hid in shame.” — Naomi Glay
